Finally getting around to watching the E3 2010 Microsoft Press Conference I was ecstatic at being treated to an utter treat: a wild childhood dream actually in the process of coming true. A preview was shone showcasing the futuristic pre-holodeck Kinect technology for the Microsoft Xbox 360. Best on the list: Dance Central, a game which resembles Dance Dance Revolution except with actual and spiffy dance moves.

You see I was a Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan back in the day (and proud of it, well… for the episodes after season 3). My absolutely favorite episode was entitled Once More With Feeling, an inspiring episode full of wonder and amazement and delight. The town of Sunnydale was under a spell which caused everyone now and then to burst out in passionately sung songs, and dance in perfectly synchronized and spontaneous near-choreographed routines.

Ah! How the little English boy in me squealed (internally) with delight as his beloved characters uncontrollably kicked and jazz-handed themselves through extraordinarily pertinent ballads, duets and medleys! And an ember of desire was eternally kindled in my heart to experience that for myself – a vain hope, I felt at the time, since other than being decisively ‘queer’ (in the non-derogatory meaning) I didn’t exactly see what would cause random people to simultaneously know the moves to elaborate dance numbers, and be able to recognize strangers they meet as knowing them too… while the appropriate music plays, out loud, all around them. Other than some accidental forced shared consciousness event, which would take the joy out of it – even if said events occurred slightly more often than they are wont to do.

In any case, returning to the future, I watched eyes glued to my computer screen as the concepts of gamers and dancers collided reflecting that much more of my narcissistic personality out into the mainstream world. As Microsoft presenters hitch-hiked, cross-downed and leoned their way on stage in front of a gaming console, cheered on by a virtual and a semi-virtual crowd, I received visions displayed to my mind’s eye of clusters of people, all frequent players of this game, finding themselves together (in non-socially geeky situations, mind you) hearing familiar songs and knowing full routines to them. Eager to have fun and not at all shy, since everyone else have already assimilated the same game, they would laugh themselves silly after having harmoniously danced to a catchy tune or two. A wild fancy of a lonely man clinging to slowly fading delusions of his youth? Perhaps. Yet perhaps rather a first time glimpse into a brighter future, a gift from an angel to a now no longer hapless and ignorant prophet.

At the rate my dreams are coming true I suspect that very soon we will all be linked telepathically in a completely open and privacy-free network of minds experiencing a level of community never before seen on such a scale in all the ever-expanding multi-dimensional bubble of existence. But until then I encourage you to take a look at the technology that will be coming out in the next little whiles and anticipate how rapidly and suddenly our world is going to change. Because you might come to see, as I have, that nothing at all is ever forever out of reach but waits for a time of higher probability, and that all around us our dreams are, truly, coming true.

Ptah walks into Atom’s room fiddling with a camera which he is obviously in the process of taking apart (aka destroying). Atom, as usual in front of his computer, turns to him and without ceremony asks:

Which super power is the most useful?

In real life?

What do you mean in real life?

Do you mean like in a game or as far as combat is concerned or real life? In daily situations?

In real life, in daily situations.

Well, what’s my mission in life? What’s my career goal? Is it what I’m holding now?

Yeah, exactly.

Telepathy.

Telepathy?

Yeah, to know what people are thinking. In fact, tele-empathy: to know what people are thinking and feeling.

Ok, but does this encompass like the power to create worlds like in 4400? Or to erase people’s memories, stuff like that, like in heroes? Does it have the full gambit of-

Well what’s the range of this power? Can I know what anybody’s thinking in all of the universe? What’s the gauge of the special ability?

If you try really, really hard, like to the verge of death-

Like Xavier?

-you can affect the entire planet.

Oh, really…

But it would be a big strain, it wouldn’t be easy, it would be like a decision.

Then yeah, like that chick in… what is it? Heroes? That can create illusions…? Is that Heroes?

Create illusions…? Is that 4400?

4400! That’s right, that’s right. So if my telepathy can go something like that even to the guy in Heroes… the father of Matt Parkman, that’d be cool. Anything to do with knowing what people are thinking or feeling.

But telekinesis is much better.

Why?

Well telekinesis-

Wait-wait-wait, you’re stupid. Now go.

First of all telekinesis is the be all and end all of powers.

Telekinesis is the be all and end all of powers?!?

Listen up, ok! I’m not talking about weak things ok? I’m talking about major telekeniss. I don’t mean limiting like Magneto.

Well even if you-

I’m not done!!… So, what you can do is move things obviously which is absolutely fantastic, you’d never have to do anything. And then since you can move yourself you can fly, so you have power of flight. You don’t have power of flight, I got power of flight.

Power of flight is useless.

[sarcastically] Useless.

You’re going to be flying across the Atlantic?

Sure! If I wanted to.

People are not going to just let you just fly around! As soon as that happens you’re going to-

But you could fly really fast.

And then when you stop they catch you.

But they are not going to see you to stop you. Anyways, you can fly really fast. You can seem to be really strong by putting telekinesis behind your punches and behind your actions. You can-

So it’s a performance-enhancing special ability?

Absolutely. Absolutely.

[Laughs]

A naturally occurring… um… you know there’s another power you can have with telekinesis.

You can explode things inside people’s bodies.

Yeah, power of murder.

But that’s the thing! What do you want to do? What would you use it for. Tell me what you would use it for and then I’ll see if it’s good or not.

Well…

Because so far…

Well first of all there would be two options. If I was trying to be normal then I’d have a really cool secret to dish out to-

But what would you use it for?

-to chicks, and I’d probably be a wrestler, a fireman.

You would change your whole personality to go with this telekinesis.

Well, I would do something that’s more active.

I would use it to cheat at gambling or something like that. Why go build a career as a fighter?

Well, whatever.

Why not put someone in danger whose life is really valuable and then save them in a remarkable way and then you’re set!

That’s the villain’s path.

The villain’s path?

Anyways, telekinesis-

You have to rise up in order to help those below you, ok? You can’t help them when you’re in the muck.

There’s no one below you to help if you do not rise up.

Yeah. You’re one of them.

Anyways, so your answer is telepathy.

My answer is telepathy.

And mine’s telekinesis. Alright so I think I won that.

No, I pretty much won that.

No, that was pretty good.

No-

The first thing I was grateful for, when I first heard about the Law of Attraction, was that I wasn’t drinking milk, for it would have surely come out my nose.

I thought it was the biggest scam I had ever heard. I wanted to believe it. Of course, I wanted to believe the ElectroAb Stimulator would give me a six-pack while I slept, but I have a brain that insists on logic. It wasn’t long before I came to understand that logic can only provide you the big picture if you have all the pieces of the puzzle. Otherwise, you get a very logical four corners and a patch of blue sky.

The Law of Attraction is the magnetic mechanism which organizes the energy of the universe. And since you and everything else are energy, Law of Attraction applies to you. You are an energy being and by virtue of your focus, you direct the flow of energy to shape your experience of creation.

There is much to discuss, but in this post, I’m most interested in leading you to the understanding that the world you see, despite how solid it may appear, is simply, beautifully energetic. I’d like to dispel the notion that your body contains you. As long as you believe you are contained in your body, you’ll be tied to the idea of physical action. If you can allow yourself to believe that you are infinite energy, the idea of creating your own reality through thought will becomes easier to grasp.

For many years now, science has been losing its grip on reality. You see, it is believed that the universe is comprised of two substances: Energy and matter. Everything that you can perceive is said to be made from universal building blocks, or elementary particles. Elementary particles are particles that cannot be subdivided. That hard stuff of creation, so to speak.

However, from skin to cell, cell to molecule, molecule to atom, atom to electrons, electrons to quarks, these elementary particles have continued to give way to even smaller elements. In other words, every time science finds what they believe to be the the smallest stuff, it breaks apart to reveal something smaller.

So where is this stuff? Where is the mass of the universe? What is my body made of? What is my home made of? What makes me separate from everything around me?

Well, it’s growing increasingly evident that there are no elementary particles. There is only energy. There is no real separation. It is only a perceived separation.

If you’re hearing this for the first time, you probably have questions. There are answers and we’ll explore them here. Read my next post about interpreting reality.

One of the topics I get asked about most often is the topic of Love, most notably romantic love: how to find it and how to keep it. I have always been hesitant to speak about it because I had not found that special someone myself. Sort of like asking a homeless person if you should invest in precious metals, he may know what he’s talking about but he wouldn’t be very convincing.

But things have changed now and I have found love! I’m in a relationship that I could not even begin to describe in words the wonderfulness of, so I won’t even try. I will instead explain from my more credible platform how I would suggest you go about manifesting a loving relationship in your own life.

For you people on-the-go looking for the answer without all the bells and whistles here’s the long and the short of it:

Summary

Retool Your Perspective:

Realise that it isn’t the person you want, it’s the feeling you are looking for.

Generate Self-Love:

Find a way to be truly in love with yourself.

Remain Equanimous:

Find a way to not care about whether or not you ever have a romantic relationship.

I know, I know! You’ve heard this all before and it’s not worked for you. I get it. I’ve been there. It’s exactly the opposite of what you want to hear or would want to be true but there’s a reason those in love spew this stuff: because it just the truth. Let’s get into a little more detail as to why.

Time to Share

The hardest part for me, by far, was understanding that I wasn’t looking for a person but instead I was looking for a feeling, an emotion, an experience. From the very first day I met my best friend I was in love with her. I adore her immediately and I was just absolutely hooked on everything about her to the point that it drove me crazy. I wanted her to be in love with me as well but she was already in a relationship so I was at a deliciously delightful dilemma. I wanted her to love me but I couldn’t see how that would ever be possible. That, my friends, is a recipe for torture. Eventually, I came to the point where I just had to give it up and understand that I wanted the feeling of love that I thought I could have with her, and accept that I could find that with just about anyone if I stopped narrowing my focus to just one person.

Just as detrimental to my chances of finding a lover was that I did not love myself. Oh I liked myself, and there were a whole lot of aspects of me that I more than liked, but I could never say I loved myself. I was looking for confirmation from someone else that I was lovable which is perfectly silly considering that I know that everyone is merely a reflection of what I think of myself. So if I don’t love myself then that cannot be reflected back to me. Once I got that I stopped looking for confirmation of my lovableness from others and focused on loving me. I literally fell in love with myself in exactly the same way I would have fallen in love with a partner. I didn’t do it to find someone, I did it to find me. That’s a very important distinction.

The last step was to abandon ever finding someone to love me, or to be in love with. I literally stopped looking. Not just for a while. I didn’t just say the words but in my heart evaluate whether or not this person or that person would be the “one”. I just stopped looking completely and forever. I gave up. I let that go. It was much easier when the first two points were accomplished I’ll admit. But it needed to be done.

Once all three points were satisfied, once I was finally in a place where I cared about how I felt, was totally enamoured with who I was, and couldn’t care less about whether or not I ever found anyone because I was so very satisfied and complete with who I was; then and only then did the world seem to change in an instant. I was a magnet for woman. I was obviously attractive to many people. And the icing on the cake? My best friend fell in love with me. It was as if she saw me for the first time shining and beaming full of self-confidence and optimism without any craving or yearning within me. And out of the clear blue sky, with a speed that still blows my mind, we went from best friends to genuine lovers because now I had love within me to give, which I did not have before.

So that’s my story, folks, and I’m sticking to it. I share this with you only because it makes me happy to do so and I wish for everyone to fall in love with who they are because that’s all you’re looking for anyway: permission or an excuse to love yourself. Yet you don’t have to wait. Do it now and watch how the universe does all it can to bring you love in a myriad of ways so amazing and so splendid that you cannot even conceive of it now.
